Static electricity in practice

Static electricity causes various production problems, particularly where materials are rubbed, separated, cut, poured or rolled.

A plastic window manufacturer in South Moravia contacted us because dust particles were being attracted to profiles beneath the decorative film on its profile-laminating line.

The existing solution blew air over the profile using a homemade device: a pipe with twenty drilled circular holes, each 1 mm in diameter.

Even the device’s high air consumption could not remove the dust. Its air jet shape was unsuitable for the application, and static electricity held the particles on the profile despite the blowing force.

Our solution was an air knife whose continuous air stream, combined with an ionising generator, completely resolves the problem.

To eliminate static charge, we supply special air knives and nozzles. An air knife with an antistatic bar combines air amplification and ionisation to create a high-speed curtain of ionised air. This combined effect can neutralise static electricity and remove dust in surface finishing, printing, packaging, and the plastics and textile industries.

We supply ionising components in various designs. With our air knives, we mainly provide ionising bars in different lengths and performance levels, selected according to static charge, product speed and other factors. This allows us to suit different applications. Options include standard and high-performance bars, bars with an integrated high-voltage source and 24 V DC supply, and simple ionising pins.

Ionising pins can also be combined with special air nozzles or handheld pneumatic guns. This provides powerful, long-range static charge removal with easy installation or convenient manual handling.
