How we calculate
Method: Qwater = P/(ρcpΔT); cp = 4180 J/(kg·K), ρ = 998 kg/m³. Simplified constant properties of clean water.
Assumptions and limitations: Indicative calculation for clean water at 5–80 °C, with a property approximation error of a few percent. Not valid for glycol or other liquids. Does not address pressure drop, water quality, the pump or heat exchanger parameters.
Method references- Spirax Sarco: Engineering Units – water heat balance; constant properties are an approximation.
Method version 1.0. Standard references verified in the ISO catalogue; the physical balances are not calculations prescribed by ISO. Before final design, we will verify actual operating and catalogue data.
